They complete the given list and submit the project as part of technical round. Everytime the problem statement is different but exercise remains more or less same. 

1. Start with basic setup of Xampp which will include Apache, MySql, PHP, PHPMyAdmin
2. Install Sublime Text Editor with modules installed for PHP, JavaScript, CSS Formatter etc. Do learn about keyboard shortcuts in sublime and changing settings.
3. Learn about MVC pattern.
4. Learn about Web Services and specially what are RESTful web services for eg. GET, PUT, POST, DELETE
5. Get yourself familiar with any one of PHP Frameworks like Laravel, Cake and CodeIgniter. Write a 'hello world' app.
6. Learn about different file formats that will be helpful. For example: JSON, XML
7. Develop one simple app which can demo all GET, PUT, POST, DELETE web services in any one of the mentioned framework above.
8. Learn about JavaScript, Ajax, JQuery DataTables and how to use it with RESTful web services you just developed.
9. Learn about Bootstrap framework, CSS properties and how to make a Responsive web page.
10. Learn how to build database schema on dbdesigner.
